  MS-401ADU: Single Manual Pull Station

Description

     Mircom’s MS-400ADU Series are single action manual alarm pull stations. Each pull station, on command from the panel, returns data representing the status of the unit. The addressable pull station has a pair of rotary decimal switches which allows for two digit address setting. Pulling the handle initiates the operation of the addressable module. Resetting is accomplished by inserting a 3.2mm screwdriver from the front. The handle, once pulled will remain open and cannot be reset without utilizing the screwdriver.

The MS-400ADU Pull stations are constructed of durable aluminum and finished in red. An abrasion resistant label with large, raised letters provides clear legible instructions. The model MS-402ADU (two stage) is similar to the MS- 401ADU (single stage) except it contains an additional General Alarm (G.A.).  N.O. switch. For safety reasons, the G.A. switch is only accessible after the handle has been pulled. A special key is supplied with each unit.

     The model MS-405ADU is similar to the MS-401ADU except it has an additional N.O. switch. The model MS-407ADU is similar to the MS-401ADU except it has an additional N.C. switch. All pull stations can be easily converted from single action to double action station by the addition of the MS-DA double action lever.

Operation

      Pulling on the station’s handle will release the internal switch to trigger the intelligent addressable module. The MS-402ADU (two stage version) also provides a key switch which is accessible after the handle has been pulled. Operation of the key switch, when connected to a separate general alarm circuit, will initiate the 2nd stage of a two stage alarm signaling system.

Engineer Specifications

     The single action pull station shall be Mircom’s MS400ADU Series. Operating instructions shall be in raised English lettering (and French Lettering for Canadian models) and the unit shall be constructed of extruded aluminum, finished in red enamel paint to provide quick identification. Pulling the handle shall initiate immediate operation of the intelligent addressable module. In addition, those stations installed in a two stage system shall come equipped with an internal key switch designed to operate the 2nd stage alarm initiating circuit. All manual fire alarm stations shall be installed as per the specific requirements outlined in the UL or ULC codes, as well as all other applicable national or local codes.

MS-500ADU SERIES

     Same Features as MS-400 Series, all MS-500 Series Pull Stations come equipped with the universal CAT-30 Key.  Mircom’s MS-500ADU Series are single action manual alarm pull stations. Each pull station, on command from the panel, returns data representing the status of the unit. The addressable pull station has a pair of rotary decimal switches which allows for two digit address setting. Pulling the handle initiates the operation of the addressable module. Resetting is accomplished by repositioning the handle and re-locking the key-lock.

The MS-500ADU Pull stations are constructed of durable aluminum and finished in red. An abrasion resistant label with large, raised letters provides clear legible instructions. The model MS-502ADU (two stage) is similar to the MS- 501ADU (single stage) except it contains an additional General Alarm (G.A.)

Description

      Mircom’s MS-700U Series Manual Pull Stations provide manual fire reporting. These high quality, die-cast metal  pull stations are available in either single or dual action  configurations with SPST contacts and terminal strip connections. The normally open contact, which closes  when the pull station is activated, is rated for 1 amp,  30 VDC. The contacts are gold plated to avoid the risk of corrosion.  The MS-700U Series Pull Stations are available in many different configurations as either single or dual-action devices.

      The MS-701U is a single action, single stage pull  station. Model MS-710U is a single stage, dual action pull station.  All models are available with key resets, terminal connectors, SPST gold contacts and CAT-30 lock  and keys. The units mount on a standard single gang  backbox, Mircom’s BB-700 surface metal backbox or  BB-700WP weather proof backbox.

Operation

      The MS-701U SingleAction Pull Station is operated by pulling down the handle marked “PULL HANDLE” on the front of the station. The MS-710U Dual Action Pull  Station is operated by pushing the bar labelled “PUSH BAR” and then pulling down the handle marked “PULL  HANDLE”. The MS-700U Series Pull Stations are reset by opening the station with the key, placing the handle in the normal upright position and re-locking the station.

Specifications

      The manual pull station shall be Mircom’s MS-700U Series. Operating instructions shall be in raised English lettering and the unit shall be constructed of  high quality die-cast metal and finished in red enamel paint to provide quick identification. Pulling the handle shall initiate immediate operation of the alarm detection circuit.  All manual fire alarm stations shall be installed as per the specific requirements outlined in the UL  codes, as well as all other applicable national or local  codes.  Final acceptance is subject to the local authority having jurisdiction.
